This post is WAY long overdue, and I apologise for that. But ANYWAYS, let's move on to the blog post.
For those of you who don't know, don't care, not interested or just totally forgot about it;
I had a trip to London! (It just feels good to say it).
London was pretty freaking awesome.
I really love London. I don't understand why people don't like it. They say the weather is so gloomy, dark and dull; but frankly I thought it was brilliant.
The weather around there ranged from 14°C to 8°C. When you go to sleep with a hot water bottle in that temperature, I swear, you don't ever want to wake up.
And I keep going around saying this, "I love London, but London loves me more".
Okay, So I'm a little egoistic when it comes to that. You are not allowed to judge me. :P
Alright, let's get on with the goods.
I really wish that I could show you all the pictures I took, but to speed things up, I just chose a few.
LONDON!
These few pictures I took were taken on the hop-hop off bus.
So forgive me for the picture quality and lack of information.
So forgive me for the picture quality and lack of information.
Madam Tussauds.
We didn't go in, just drove by.
Why? The line was too damn long. And we're not that interested in standing and posing next to waxed celebrities.
I'm pretty sure most of the celebs go for waxing. ;P
Trafalgar Square.
They were doing some contruction work, so it didn't look as pretty.
I thought the fountain looked pretty nice.
Buckingham Palace.
Apparently, it's very fun to stand next to guards who don't move.
Whoo. Exciting.
Big Ben.
I have TONS of pictures of the Big Ben.
Guess it became such a symbol of London, I wanted so many pictures of it.
The London Eye.
With Big Ben inside it.
Heh. The bus stopped for us for this view.
Fleet Street.
Sweeney Todd wasn't around. Neither was Mrs. Lovett's pie.
Haha. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
The Tower Bridge.
Often mistaken for 'The London Bridge'.
However, the song actually refers to this particular bridge.
I think we were on the real London Bridge at the time I took this picture.
Confused yet?
We stopped for lunch at this awesome restaurant.
I had 2 very different drinks.
Hot chocolate, because I'm such a kid.
Red wine, because they said it'll keep me warm inside and I'm legal.
Best tasting penne mushroom chicken pasta EVER.
I couldn't finish this though. Stuffed!
The Camden Market.
Interesting little shopping area.
Definitely much cheaper than a lot of other places.
See what I mean by interesting?
Their shops are really decorated.
Not that there's anything bad with this, but there were a lot of punks and goths around.
I thought it was pretty interesting actually. I've never really met goths up front. Haha.
One highlight of the London trip was watching the live show of 'The Lion King'.
I promise you, it's one of the BEST shows ever.
It's pretty much impossible to describe how awesome the show was.
So here's my suggestion; Go catch a live show there if you can.
The London Eye.
It's kinda expensive, but you really do get to see London as a whole. Brilliant.
Sheila awkwardly standing in front of the London Eye.
Huge assed camera for the London Eye.
It's for those people who want to get their pictures taken while they are in that capsule thing.
Red telephone booth.
What's London without their famous red telephone booths?
I really wanted to go in one and get my picture taken.
But every time I wanted to, there wasn't one around.
And when there is one, I'm either on the bus or in a rush!
Idemanded suggested we go and visit Platform 9 3/4 before we left London. Haha.
Check out my Harry Potter scarf! Who says witches and wizards aren't fashionable? ;)
I actually did that pushing trolley pose. I know, cliche.
*Sigh*. If only it was true.
Cosmo.
No...Not the moronic green fairy from Fairly Odd Parents. (Moronic, but I like his character).
An alcoholic drink. In a can.
I've never seen them sell alcoholic drinks in a can before.
Melissa Duncan.
See this lovely lady here?
She's kinda the reason how we manage to get around so well in London.
It also helped that they have awesome public transports.
Many thanks to her! =)
DURHAM!
On the train to Durham!
Melissa & Paul Duncan.
We stayed over at their lovely house when at Durham.
They were trying to open the gift we got them. It's sorta airtight, so it's kinda difficult to open it.
Haha. I had a fun time taking pictures of them having a hard time opening it.
Ta dah!
Pretty ain't it?
Wanna take a guess at where we got this? ;)
First dinner in Durham at their place.
It's set like that every time we have a meal here.
Fireplace!
Sorry, I don't live in a cold country. Haha.
We had ham for the first dinner.
This.is.super.delicious!
Paul cooked the first dinner by the way.
You gotta eat your veggies to stay strong and healthy.
Dessert!
Cheesecake from Tesco.
Tasted pretty good actually.
Just look at how fancy their bathroom is!
Doesn't it look like it's from a swanky hotel?
When I first saw it, I think my mouth was hanging...
Their amazing and very cozy kitchen.
What's a great kitchen without an awesome fridge?
From one of their bedrooms.
To show you how cold it was at Durham...
Here is a picture of a plant with frost on it.
Durham was freaking cold. When I got off the train, my teeth was chat-t-t-t-tering.
This is one of those, you've got to be there moments.
The grass had frost all over it, except where the sun was.
So in this case, there was like a line that split the frost. Haha.
"The Old School House."
Melissa & Paul Duncan's home.
Just an fyi, that's actually what it's called.
Melissa's colour arranged bookshelf.
I quote Paul, "This system doesn't make any sense when you want to find a book."
But you have to admit...it does look really pretty.
This comes with the house.
I'll explain it to you when if you ask.
There's quite a story to this one.
"The Observatory."
Pretty cozy place to be when you're having a BBQ and just want to lounge around.
First breakfast in Durham.
I just think this picture is so pretty with the sun shining in on us with bread and jam on the table. :]
The Cathedral in Durham.
Everything inside (and outside) is so beautiful.
And there was place inside, that I promise looks something out of Harry Potter.
It's such a pity I couldn't take any pictures. =(
While walking back to the car from the Cathedral, we saw this curious plush toy peeking out.
C'mon...I had to take a picture of it.
The ray of sunlight peeking out from the clouds.
I'm so proud to say I took this picture.
Cheese, Bread, Crackers and English Tea anyone?
And unfortunately celery. I hate celery. Just so you know.
Fish & Chips!
I mentioned that it is a crime to go to UK and not eat Fish & Chips.
Best fish and chips ever. (and probably the hugest plate I've seen)
"Angel of the North."
This was on the way to Newcastle.
It was kinda hard to take pictures here, it was SO cold and windy.
I actually almost got blown away by the wind. No joke.
You can read the sign.
This bridge moves. Just another FYI.
Having a tea party at Richard & Susan's place.
English tea at it's best.
Not counting the Queen's one of course.
Susan made everything at the table.
Meringue!
Oysters!
Little cake like things with blueberry and cream in it.
Rice Krispies with Chocolate.
Thai savoury pie.
Blokus!
Best strategy board game ever!
Melissa introduced this game to us, and I think I'm addicted to this game.
Leaving Durham to board on to a ship to Amsterdam.
Good bye UK.
This will not be my last time there. ;)

FINALLY!
The end of the London, Durham, and Newcastle post.
I didn't fit in all the pictures because they were too many, so I just found a few to share with you guys. Sorry.
Many bajillion thanks to Melissa & Paul Duncan for their warm hospitality and taking us around and showing us places. <3
Also, another bajillion thanks to my parents for this amazing trip I won't ever want to forget.
Honestly, I miss London and Durham. =/
If I could, I would want to live there.
Had one of the most wonderful time over there.
Definitely not going to be my last time there.
p/s: This took me a while to compose. I've been really busy trying to catch up with Uni. Sorry.
p/p/s: I still have the Amsterdam & Paris post to blog about. That might take another several weeks. LOL.
Signing off because it's 12.30am. XOXO
