It's the last day of January, in case you have not yet realised it.

If you're a believer for the silly world doom 2012 nonsense...

Well hey! You've survived this far.

Only 11 more months to go!

I realised I haven't actually given much thought to my 'resolutions'.

Things like, do well in university, sleeping earlier, and eating healthy sounds pretty common and boring. You SHOULD practice those anyway.

Honestly, I don't particularly like riding too much on resolutions.

People are setting themselves up for dissapointment when they create exorbitant resolutions.

Everyone should set goals, yes. But set reasonable goals.

Don't come crying to me when you don't look like Miranda Kerr at the end of the year.

(Lifetime goals are another story).

Anyway, this year I want to be someone who takes action and maybe write a blog post at the end of every month. That'll be fun.

To summarise what's been going on this month...

More of the highlights of the month, or at least what I can remember.

(plus what pictures my camera has been snapping away chronologically. Heh).

WEEK 1:

I had a gathering with my friends in the beginning of the year.

Just a couple of us celebrating New Year's Day together.

It was pretty good to see almost everyone.

New Year's Day at Ashton's place.

The 3 of us were fooling around with my camera while the others played Blokus or Mahjong.

WEEK 2:

I went for a friend's (my eldest sister's room mate) wedding in Makkasar, Indonesia.

Boy, was that fun. I got to wear 2 dresses in a day.

Let me just say, the wedding is spectacular!

I've never been to a wedding on such a large scale.

The end of the week, I went out with my some of my SAM college friends.

Whom I have not seen in such a long time.

It was pretty good to meet up with most of them.

We just had lunch together at Mid Valley.

WEEK 3:

Had an awesome dinner + hangout session + all nighter with a couple of my friends.

A friend from Australia came back for the holidays.

Naturally, we'd all go out and have fun!
We went for dinner at Tom, Dick & Harry's at Scott Garden.
After that, they came over to my house and 3 of them slept over.
Honestly one of the best gatherings I've ever had.

Went out with my friend for a last minute shopping trip.

No further explanation needed other than it was a pretty good shopping trip.

Even though I didn't get anything for myself. Hmm...

WEEK 4:

Chinese New Year Week!

Practicing simple things like decorations and reunion dinner.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of me eating dinner with my family.

Mainly, because we were too busy eating and, it's just the usual family dinner.

Later that week on Thursday, we went to SUNWAY LAGOON!

I feel so sorry for all those who couldn't make it, because we had such a blast.

Clearly I couldn't bring my camera with me during the rides, so this is what I have.

When we're really all around the world,

I'd like to look back at these moments and remember that we were once young and fun.

(You don't have to go to clubs, drink, get wasted or do something stupid to have fun.)

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games.

First of, Suzanne Collins is a genius.
The way she writes this whole trilogy.
Brilliant. I could not stop reading it!
Every twist and turn the book brought me through.
However, it may be a little dark for more softer readers.
Either way, I'd still recommend this book for anyone to read in a heartbeat.

Honestly I was a little reluctant to read the book, I'm not much of a sci-fi reader.
But one of my favourite artists on deviant art draws scenes from the book.
And one of my friends said it is really good.
Plus, I saw the book on sale and in a complete box set.
I'm a sucker for boxed set books.
Oh and, a movie based on this book is coming out.
I would like to wait to watch the movie, and then only read the book.
BUT...I decided to read the first few pages of the book...
Hahaha. You can guess what obviously happened after that.

Sysnopsis of the story:
Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. This is where the government, working in a central city called the Capitol, holds power. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual event where one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.

I hope it's not too premature to say this, but I think they picked the cast really well.

Not forgetting this one particular soundtrack from the movie.

"Safe and Sound" by Taylor Swift featuring The Civil Wars.

Such a beautiful song only by talented artists.

The 2nd book and the final book only gets better and better.

Not very often you find novels where each progressing one improves.

Go read The Hunger Games and May the odds be ever in your favour!

2011 has been a relatively interesting year.

First year of university. That's something. Haha.

2012 is the year of the water dragon.

That should be good. =)

So many things to look forward to in 2012; 2012 London Olympics, The Hunger Games movie. (23rd March 2012), 2nd year of university, and also my last year in Malaysia indefinitely.

Wicked in Singapore

Wicked in Singapore.

Went down to Singapore for the weekend to catch a show "Wicked".
I believe that this has got to be one of the more eventful trips down to Singapore.
I've been so busy during this trip, by the end of it I felt tired. Haha.

Let me express my opinions towards the Broadway show 'Wicked'.
LOVELOVELOVE it! It was mind blowingly epic!!!
All of the songs are amazing, but the ones that got stuck in my head are 'Defying Gravity', 'Popular', 'I'm not that gir'l, and 'What is this feeling'.
I got myself a souvenir, but what I'll really remember is the show and it's songs.
If you can, go watch the show.
You'll love it, I promise.
Frankly I wouldn't mind going to watch it over again. =)

Wicked's amazing stage.

This was taken before the show started.

No filming or photography allowed during the show. Respect that.

We spent the whole day shopping and walking around on the day we arrived.

But we saw this colourful elephants displayed around Orchard and places we went.

I believe it's something in conjunction with Elephant Parade.

There were plenty more all around Singapore, but these were just the few I managed to get a shot of.

If I were alone and not trying to catch up with my mum & sis, I would have spent the whole day looking for these elephants. =)

First elephant I saw that made me go, "HEY! Coloured elephants! They have something like that in London!"

This was taken when we were walking to dinner.

The other interesting thing we saw were a bunch of half naked men standing outside the new Abercombie & Fitch store.

Apparently they were there to greet people and to countdown till the store opens.

Caused quite a stir. So many people were there greeting and taking pictures with a couple of 6-pack meat.

Moving on to the next day...

I had one of the most delicious breakfasts in Singapore.

Had breakfast at 'The Coffee Connoisseur'.

Croissant with scrambled eggs & turkey ham.

Sure looks good doesn't it?

After eating breakfast we went over to Marina Bay Sands, because that's where the show is.

Did some window shopping, seeing as how we can't exactly spend a lot of money in Marina Bay Sands. Haha.

After the wicked show, we met up with my mum's cousin and her family for dinner.

Went to some Japanese restaurant.

And this is the only good picture I got...

We got a little too hungry and before I could actually take pictures, we gobbled up our food.

You would too, if you saw how delicious the food looked. (Tasted as good as it looked).

Finally, lemme end this post with how I (well, my mum actually. Thanks!) got myself a new watch.

Mainly because my old watch was getting a little wonky.

You've served me so well. Thank you.

Look at me. Talking a watch...heh.

Bet you're wondering, "How do you tell the time with a watch like that?"

Everyone and anyone who's looked at my watch asked me that. Haha.

OOH! I forgot to mention...

After dinner, we were walking back to our hotel, we saw so many photographers around taking pictures of the moon.

I stopped to look up and lo and behold, a lunar eclipse!

I find it really fascinating mainly because I've never seen a lunar eclipse before.

What a nice way to end my day. :)

Guess that's about it for my trip down to Singapore to watch Wicked.

Seriously. GO WATCH IT!

There's a reason why it's one of the longest running Broadway shows.

Before you start hating me...

Let me at least enjoy music the way it's supposed to.

My eldest sister & mum bought me these headphones for my birthday.

An extremely early birthday present. (I ain't complaining).

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It's wouldn't be enough but, THANK YOU!

My sis knew I kept yapping about these headphones and offered to buy them for me for my birthday. Initially, I thought it is a little over priced and felt slightly guilty.

She obviously still got it for me. THANK YOU!

It comes with a travel pack.

Makes bringing these monsters around much easier.

Got the black one.

The red one would have been smashing.

The headband and logo from the box.

There are a lot of people out there saying how over rated and over priced these headphones are, myself included.

Truth be told, I've always thought these headphones were pretty cool even with the monstrous price tag (pun intended).

I like how it looks; clean, simple, not bulky (this one at least).

In my opinion, most people would only buy this for it's brand and namesake (Someone obviously got a HD for marketing).

Don't get me wrong, listening to music on this is brilliant.

It's kinda like a whole different listening experience.

Let me put it this way, once you've listened to music with these headphones, you'd probably never want to go back.

Unless of course you've got speakers from Bang & Olufsen or Harman Kardon.

Question: Is it worth the massive price tag?

If it was a wee bit cheaper, maybe. But if you can afford it or it was on sale, why not?

It's just much cleaner in looks compared to other bulkier headphone products.

You gotta admit. It looks (and sounds) banging awesome.

WHY, HELLO THERE!
It's been way too long since I wrote a blog post.
Nothing fancy to expect, just an update.

My semester 2 exams are finally over.
For some reason I really dreaded this exam.
I wasn't particularly nervous for this exam.
I just wanted to get over with it.
But right now, I'm actually worried for my results...
Specifically my economics paper. (Eeps!)

Moving on...
Taylor's now does not allow us to choose our tutorial time slots.
Oh, the humanity!
Their reason? To maintain fairness and equality.
I understand their point.
BUT...what about the Nazi people who stay up till 12am to register???
They better give me a nice time slot.

Since my holidays has officially begun, (WOOHOO!)
I created a bucket list of things to do during my holidays.
So you know, I don't end up being lifeless and boring.

Stuff like:
-Update my blog. (Check!)
-An easy part time job.
-Clean my room & study table.
-Bake (Hoping to attempt a soufflé).
-Video games (I really should finish up FF13, and start AC:Brotherhood. Was thinking of starting Skyrim too...But...Haha...That might take me FOREVER.)
-Watch movies & catch up on TV series.
-Read up my books. (Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, etc.)
-Rock climbing. (I've been talking about this a lot.)

OH! WICKED is coming to Singapore!
And yours truly will be going.
*squeal!!!!!*
I SO CANNOT WAIT TO GO!
Ever since I heard of this play, I've been wanting to go for it.
Naturally, I would've loved going for the one in London or in New York.
But beggars can't be choosers.

Anyhoo, I shall leave you guys here.

Sheila's got a new laptop!
A bajillion Thank you's to my mum and uncle.

Here's a story for you:
My old laptop (which has been around for about a good 3-5 years.) has a black splotch on the screen.
Apparently it's because the pixels in the screen died. It was actually 1 fine line and started spreading like cancer.
My mum noticed this and thought of getting a new laptop.
Me being the stingy person I am, said it's alright. I'll just use it until it can't be used anymore.
Then my uncle told my mum about this laptop, little did I know, she went ahead and got it.
About a week before it came here, she told me, "Sheila, your uncle is bringing your laptop over this weekend. So better save what you want from your old laptop."
You can very well guess my reaction...
For those with little imagination --->

Story aside, I'm really really glad I got this laptop.
It's SO much more faster.
Things transfer at a much faster rate, it starts up faster.
Speakers are pretty good.
I finally have Windows 7. (Sshh...I know it's been out for quite a while).

FYI; Dell isn't paying me, and I'm not advertising for them.

It's probably not as 'pretty' as an Apple is, but it works well and that's all I ask for.
It's more of a business laptop.
I love my laptop, Yes I do!

Define Friend

Define Friend.

About 2 weeks ago, I forgot a friend's birthday.
That doesn't seem like such a big deal right?
For some reason I felt really guilty for losing track.
It's like forgetting your very own existence (or your friends).
And I've never really forgotten family or friend's birthday.
I'm like the walking birthday dictionary.

I was just thinking to myself of how I'm not that great of a friend.

After Uni has started (hoo boy...here we go again).

I've only just talked to people that I can easily reach,

like if they live near me or if they called me up first.

During one of the past Thursdays, I bumped into one of my friends on my way home.

I felt really bad I didn't make time to sit and chat with him.

And a few good friends who I always talk to,but rarely talk to now.
Normally I wouldn't be bothered.

But I was thinking, friendships and relationships works both ways.

I can't always expect them to call me up or say hi to me first.

That's somewhat double standards.

Personally, I also think that the infamous social networking site destroys relationships.
I'm not saying it's all bad.
Sure, It helps you keep in touch with people, especially if they are far away.
It's just that I feel that personal touch got lost along the way.
And of all things, I love that part the most about friendships.

Another thing I dislike is how people abuse the term 'best friend'.
Everyone suddenly is their best friend.
Logically speaking, if everyone is their best friend, then no one is their best friend.
I was never a fan of that term.
Maybe you never realised, but I don't actually say, "Yeah, those guys, my best friends."
I usually say something like, "Oh yeah, they're one of my closest friends."
It's just personal preference. Don't get offended.

I think the problem is keeping friends for a long time. That's the hard part.

Eventually everyone will go their separate ways and meet new and different people.

Lead different lives, exposed to different cultures, experience different things.

Sure sounds a little crazy to hope for so much.

But it would be nice to stay in contact with friends over the years.

Imagine us 20 years down the road, having ice cream together, or having a good hearty BBQ meal.
Yeah. That'll be nice.

One Night Only is a British band (Bonus points!).

Before I explode and tell you guys how I feel about 'The Legend of Korra'...
I must let you know, that I'm a huge fan of the previous series.

Oh and just so you know, my favourite male character has definitely got to be Zuko.

Zuko without his top knot or pony tail.

This hairstyle suits him better. ^^

Main reason why I like his character is because there's quite a lot of depth in it.

He and his internal struggle. But he's really a good character.

Favourite female is definitely TOPH!

Toph Bei Fong.

She's one bad ass blind girl who can earthbend.

Wicked sense of humour and sarcasm too.

Just to name my favourites. Hehe.

Oh and favourite ships are Zutara! ;P

I'm too lazy to think of a proper title.
This is just an update on what's been happening.
I was on my 'winter' break (even though I'm in Malaysia).
My break started 3 weeks ago right after my exams ended.

So with that, I went on a trip to Bangkok.
Didn't bother taking much pictures because I've been there several times.
If you know me, you'd probably get sick of asking me where I'm going for a holiday.

I also went swimming!
Just an FYI, I love swimming. Alone.
If I ever go for a swim with my friends, I'm not going to wear a swim suit.
I don't want them going blind. Haha.

Didn't manage to go rock climbing as I initially planned.
Thought it would be more fun if I went with some friends.
So I'm probably going rock climbing end of this year.
Anyone else want to join me? =)
The one I plan to go to is in 1Utama mall.

I managed to sketch + draw + photoshop some stuff.
Unfortunately it's still in progress and I can't post it up.

I wish I met up with more of my friends. =/
But at least I still got to hang with some of them.
Speaking of which, I went for lunch with 2 friends from high school last Friday.
It was pretty fun, nothing fancy though.
Just lunch, and played BLOKUS!
By far my favourite board game ever.

Oh yes, on a side note:

It's so neat and clean and orange!
Plus it's really easy to use.

Bonjour mes chéris!

Continuing where I left off...
My FINAL post on my trip to Europe!
This whole trip (UK + Netherlands + France) is by far my favourite.
Mainly because it's so far away and I love Europe.
I think I took so long to type out these posts was because I didn't want myself to stop thinking about Europe.
Also, because I was so busy with uni I had barely time to breathe. Heh.

Alright, here goes the post.

PARIS!

Most of the famous landmark pictures were taken on the hop on-hop off bus.

The Eiffel Tower at night!

Seeing this magnificent structure felt surreal.

I honestly could not believe it.

Taking a ton of pictures of the Eiffel Tower is a must.

This is just one of me standing there.

PROOF I was saw the Eiffel Tower.

Not much of proving to the world, more of proof to myself.

Another one of the Eiffel Tower.

When we arrived in Paris, it was early in the evening.

It was too late to go to a lot of places, and too early to sleep.

So I suggested we go see the Eiffel Tower.
Seeing the Eiffel Tower in day is one thing, seeing it at night is another.

I'm so glad I suggested it. ^^

The Magdalenae.

It's a church, which I thought looked a lot like the Pantheon.

It's too bad we didn't have time to go in. =(

I bet it would have been amazing.

This is suppose to be Napoleon.

I'm sure you know the story to it.

Louvre Museum.

Oh how I wished we could have gone inside.

We took the tour around Paris on a Tuesday.

They are open everyday...EXCEPT TUESDAYS!

Wait for me Louvre. I'll visit you next time.

I think this was part of the Opera or somewhere near the Louvre.

Honestly I can't remember.

I wrote the captions in my original file, but lost it in the unfortunate hard drive lost.

Just some architecture I liked.

Notre Dame de Paris (French for: Our Lady of Paris).

We just know it as the 'Notre Dame Cathedral'.

I believe, it's architecture style is French Gothic.

Really would have loved to see the inside of this building.

Imagine all that beautiful stain glass!

Wondering why this tower rings a bell? (Pun intended).

Here's a clue: Victor Hugo's novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Place de la Concorde.

This structure as I remember, is actually a gift from Egypt to Paris.

I kinda liked this picture with the blue sky and a single structure.

Another must see in Paris.
The designs on this things are amazing.
It's like different stories but somehow all combined.

But I got so exited about macaroons I just bought these.

Yeah. I ate these bad boys.
I told myself that I have to eat a local delicacy when I go to a new country.
Like going to UK and eating fish and chips.
(I realised I didn't have clam chowder when I was in UK. *shame*)
So for France, the first thing I thought of was escargot.

Here's proof I actually ate escargot.
My dad, mum and sis didn't want to try it (wussies).
But after watching me eat 2, I gave my mum and sis one each.
It's shocked me how something that sounds unappealing taste rather good.
It wasn't slimy. It was soft, tender and juicy. Quite a delicacy, I'll say.
My mum and sis think I'm some brave heroine for eating escargots.

So simple.
But so DELICIOUS!
Unfortunately I couldn't finish it.

Eurostar.
(I apologise for the strange picture, but that's the train and you can see the logo).
A high speed train that connects London & Paris.
It only took us 2 hours to get to London from Paris!
We just had to take this ride back to London.
It travels in the channel tunnel (an undersea rail tunnel).
I mean...c'mon, how can you resist that?!

Au Revoir Paris!

It was rather nice to visit you.

Would I go back again? Hmm...Probably.

(Just to see the inside of the Louvre).

Shopping in Paris is a little too pricey for me.

If I do go back, I'm going for the museums and photography.

They have pretty parks. =)

The one thing I love about Paris is their architecture.

I could not get enough of it!

And of course their fashion is famous world wide.

But you know me, I'm not exactly the most fashion forward person.

[Oh but I did walk in Bally, and stood in front of Chanel. ;) ]

The thing I really regret is not going in the Louvre.

When my family decided not to I was like...

"NOOOOO! We're in PARIS! We HAVE to see it!"

Yeah...we didn't. =(

Next time, I really want to see inside of it.

I guess that wraps up my trip to Europe.
Believe me when I say I have more pictures and a lot more to say.
But as of now, here it is.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Another WAY overdue post. Boo.
But fear not! I am getting to it.

Ah...Amsterdam.
Largest city and capital of Netherlands.
Plenty of art and history to be seen.
Oh and it's legal to smoke marijuana (weed) and practice prostitution in Amsterdam.
Did you know that? Because I didn't, until we planned to visit Amsterdam.
Frankly, I think that's why Amsterdam is so famous.
But really, there's more to this city than that.

Anyways, on to my trip.
We were in London before we went to Amterdam.

AMSTERDAM!

The ship's cabin that we slept in.

We took a ship from the Port of Tyne (Newcastle) to go to Amsterdam.

This ship was pretty cool.

They had fancy restaurants, a nightclub, bars and a movie theater.

We went to watch "Megamind" in the theater.

The only problem I had on this ship was I became a little sea sick for some reason...I usually can handle any sort of transportation. Haha.

Parking lots for BICYCLES.

The Dutch really love their bicycles.

I believe their main mode of transportation is bicycles.

I wanted to ride one around Amsterdam, but I think I would have gotten lost.

Nonetheless, this is pretty cool. Good exercise and eco-friendly.

We wanted to see Amsterdam through the water ways.
So we took a canal ride around Amsterdam city.
It's really cool how you can get around Amsterdam with water taxis.

If I'm not mistaken, this is an art gallery that we passed by while on a ride in the water taxi.

I think this is called the "Nemo".

Among one of the last traditional windmills around Netherlands.
It's so sad. I really wish they'd keep at least 1 or 2 around just for the sake of history.
Plus, it attracts tourists like us.

This is one of the apartments along the canal.
These apartments are well kept, clean and really nifty.
They actually look really pleasant to live in.
(I'm not one for living in apartments...)

Ah...the Heineken brewery.
We were suppose to visit this place.
But...due to the lack of time, we decided to skip on the brewery lessons.
I hear that the beer here tastes better compared to elsewhere.

Kaas!
Which is Dutch for, Cheese!
The cheese here is really something.
There's just this taste to it, you can tell it's 'real' cheese (So to speak).
When we saw this shop, ALL of us were like, "CHEESE SHOP! We're going in."
The sales people in the store were really friendly too. Maybe because they were interested in weird Asians who enjoy eating cheese. Haha.
I had a really fun time sampling all the different sort of cheese. So many flavours!
Of course we brought some back, and I think it's still in my fridge.

My mum really wanted to visit the flower market.
Well, actually we all did...but we just say she wanted to visit it.
I could probably stay on this street the whole day and take pictures of all these beautiful flowers.
Mind you, spring started late and we were there right before spring started.
Can you imagine what it is like during spring?

Personally, I love roses.
But after visiting this flower market, I've taken a liking to lilies and tulips.

Oh yes. There was a sign that says, "No foto in shop. Outside ok."

I LOVE THIS POSTER!
When I saw it, I squealed with excitement.
Of course I entered the shop and bought a few postcards.
I wanted to get this poster, or something like this to hang on my bedroom wall or at near my study table.
But obviously I couldn't bring this huge fantastic poster back home.
Flight and stuff. Plus I didn't want to risk €80 of goods being damaged.
I lovelovelove these stuff.
The shop I got my postcards from is, "Friends of ART".

Alright, as much as I love that poster above...
I love this one as much!
It's so darn funny.
I think this is cheaper though.
If only I could buy them both. *sigh*

It was fun to visiting you, but I would only go back there to see the flowers during spring and get those posters!

Don't get me wrong...Amsterdam is great.

I just couldn't stand the smell of smokers (and the weed smokers - STINKY!).

This brings us to THE END of my Amsterdam post.

I went there in March, but I still miss it.

Funny...I was actually thinking about London & my trip there during my Marketing paper today (highly inadvisable thing to do).

Just a little update on the current times:

-My semester 1 exams are over.

-The previous post says I lost my hardrive, but THANKFULLY I left my the pictures of my vacation to Europe on my desktop.

-I'm going to Bangkok with my mum on the 29th of June, and will be back on the 2nd of July.

p/s: 1 more vacation post to go! Wait for the Paris post. ;)

Goodbye External Hard Drive.

Goodbye External Hard Drive.

As you can tell, I'm upset that I lost my hard drive for good.
Nothing can be saved. NOTHING.
Just bear with me as I complain through this post...

I've lost ALL my pictures.
Pictures from high school, random moments, vacation, family photos, my valuable artwork (some I never posted on the internet because I just didn't), and so many moments all gone.
If you're wondering why can't I get back the old pictures, it's because some just belong to me (like my artworks) and it'll take forever to find all those pictures (some of us don't spam pictures on facebook).

My hard work from College and University.
Don't know about you, but sometimes when I'm bored, I like to re-read my old assignments. They're hardcore. And awesome. Gives me the achieved feeling.
I've spent half a year on an ESL assignment (which I'm pretty proud of), and those assignment in University that made me stay up till the wee hours.
I'm kinda geeky okay. So unlike most people, I actually do read my old assignments. Makes me somewhat happy.

The movies I've downloaded.
Ok well, I'm upset that I've lost them.
But the thing about movies, you can always buy the DVD or download it again.

*Sigh*
Just really upset that I lost all my pictures and my academic work.
I suppose it's pointless crying over spilled milk, or corrupted hard drives.
In a way, it's moving forward. I've had all that data since I was 12 or 13.
Optimistic me believes that I'll live without all that data.
I probably need to move on. Plus, I think I've changed since I enrolled in University.
Who knows? Maybe it's a sign. Haha.
You probably don't understand what I'm talking about...but it's ok.
I don't tell people everything.

Plan of action?
1. Get myself 2 hard drives (1 for constant usage, and the other for backup).
Speaking of which, I realise I'm not the smartest when it comes to backing up.
Don't look at me that way, things like this happen.
2. Don't ever bring your hard drive to University. It messes sh!t up.
Plus, ALWAYS (ALWAYS!!!) "Safely Remove Hard Drive" from the computer.
It's there for a damn reason, stop trying to be so damn brave.

I suppose now I can get the 1 Terabyte external hard drive.
And I promise not to be such a cheapskate when it comes to picking hard drives.

Enough complaining from me.

I'm sorry that I haven't been a good blogger.
University just sucks the life out of you.
I've honestly been very busy. Scouts honour. Even though I'm not a scout...

This post is WAY long overdue, and I apologise for that. But ANYWAYS, let's move on to the blog post.

For those of you who don't know, don't care, not interested or just totally forgot about it;
I had a trip to London! (It just feels good to say it).
London was pretty freaking awesome.
I really love London. I don't understand why people don't like it. They say the weather is so gloomy, dark and dull; but frankly I thought it was brilliant.
The weather around there ranged from 14°C to 8°C. When you go to sleep with a hot water bottle in that temperature, I swear, you don't ever want to wake up.
And I keep going around saying this, "I love London, but London loves me more".
Okay, So I'm a little egoistic when it comes to that. You are not allowed to judge me. :P

Alright, let's get on with the goods.
I really wish that I could show you all the pictures I took, but to speed things up, I just chose a few.

LONDON!

These few pictures I took were taken on the hop-hop off bus.
So forgive me for the picture quality and lack of information.

Madam Tussauds.
We didn't go in, just drove by.
Why? The line was too damn long. And we're not that interested in standing and posing next to waxed celebrities.
I'm pretty sure most of the celebs go for waxing. ;P

Trafalgar Square.
They were doing some contruction work, so it didn't look as pretty.
I thought the fountain looked pretty nice.

Buckingham Palace.
Apparently, it's very fun to stand next to guards who don't move.
Whoo. Exciting.

Big Ben.
I have TONS of pictures of the Big Ben.
Guess it became such a symbol of London, I wanted so many pictures of it.

Heh. The bus stopped for us for this view.

Fleet Street.
Sweeney Todd wasn't around. Neither was Mrs. Lovett's pie.
Haha. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

The Tower Bridge.
Often mistaken for 'The London Bridge'.
However, the song actually refers to this particular bridge.
I think we were on the real London Bridge at the time I took this picture.
Confused yet?

We stopped for lunch at this awesome restaurant.
I had 2 very different drinks.
Hot chocolate, because I'm such a kid.
Red wine, because they said it'll keep me warm inside and I'm legal.

Best tasting penne mushroom chicken pasta EVER.
I couldn't finish this though. Stuffed!

The Camden Market.
Interesting little shopping area.
Definitely much cheaper than a lot of other places.

See what I mean by interesting?
Their shops are really decorated.
Not that there's anything bad with this, but there were a lot of punks and goths around.
I thought it was pretty interesting actually. I've never really met goths up front. Haha.

One highlight of the London trip was watching the live show of 'The Lion King'.
I promise you, it's one of the BEST shows ever.
It's pretty much impossible to describe how awesome the show was.
So here's my suggestion; Go catch a live show there if you can.

The London Eye.
It's kinda expensive, but you really do get to see London as a whole. Brilliant.

I really wanted to go in one and get my picture taken.
But every time I wanted to, there wasn't one around.
And when there is one, I'm either on the bus or in a rush!

I ~~demanded~~ suggested we go and visit Platform 9 3/4 before we left London. Haha.

Durham was freaking cold. When I got off the train, my teeth was chat-t-t-t-tering.

This is one of those, you've got to be there moments.
The grass had frost all over it, except where the sun was.
So in this case, there was like a line that split the frost. Haha.

Just an fyi, that's actually what it's called.

But you have to admit...it does look really pretty.

Pretty cozy place to be when you're having a BBQ and just want to lounge around.

I just think this picture is so pretty with the sun shining in on us with bread and jam on the table. :]

And there was place inside, that I promise looks something out of Harry Potter.
It's such a pity I couldn't take any pictures. =(

Forgive me. I ran out of ideas on how to name this post.
Anyways, about time I updated this blog before I go missing for 2 weeks.

Birthday celebration wasn't much. Just had dinner with family and spent most of my time thanking people who wished me. It collectively made my day.

Uni has officially started for me. Taylors University, Lakeside Campus!
Orientation was on the 21st of February, and lectures started on the 28th of February.
Tutorials and classes start the week after. Which I won't be here...(Eeeps!)
I've met some really nice and friendly people, some familiar faces, and surprisingly Lakeside actually has some eye candy.
I know...I'm beyond shocked.
More Uni updates when I get back to Uni.

Right...I can't believe I'm going to miss a whole 2 weeks of tutorials and classes!
GAH! Imagine all the catching up to do. *fumbly mumbly*
But frankly speaking, I'm not upset that I'm missing all that with where I'm going. ;)

Bandung

Bandung

is Indonesia's 3rd largest city.

Before I continue ranting about my trip to Bandung,
Happy Chinese New Year to those celebrating it! =)
(Yes I know it's almost coming to an end...but I didn't get to wish you guys.)

Went to Bandung with my parents from 31st of January to the 4th of February.
Most of my time was spent shopping. Or just following my mum around. Haha.
The food there was pretty alright. Rather tasty and definitely interesting.
Oh and if you do go there, I highly suggest you hire a driver.
There is no way you can drive there, even with all your 'skills'. Seriously.
I'll be uploading a lot of pictures and explaining from there on.

My parents wanted to walk through their volcano forest place.

(Go figure).

Some trees along the way. It's reddish and sorta bald because the volcanic magma made it like that.

My legs were all wobbly after that 'expedition' of 2.5km+ of mountainous hiking.

My advice: Skip the walk. Just don't go here.

(I still didn't think it was worth the walk.)

I ate this. Didn't want to be a spoilt sport, so I ate it. Definitely much nicer than that utterly bitter tasting leaf Lisa gave me to eat.

We FINALLY made it to the bottom.

It sorta irked me a little that we hiked all the way just to see bubbling water coming out of rocks.

This is the bungalow (Gracia Spa) we stayed in for a night.

Really cool place. I meant that both figuratively and literally.

And I just really like the doors.

Surprisingly tasted quite nice with the cheese.

You get your own private hot springs in the bungalow!

Indonesian satay. Just slightly different compared to Malaysian.

But still good. =)

As the traffic started moving, it took of it's mask and look rather dejected.

Super expensive place to shop.

But really good for window shopping. Haha.

They had peacocks walking around the mall.

Some shoppers even brought their dogs for a walk in the mall.

Alas. I tell the sad tale of my dear bag that has left me.

As you can see, it's in quite a bad state. So I had to throw this one away.

You've served me very well.

Saw this little girl at the airport lounge area.

Look at the way she's sitting. How stylish.

She's playing with her iPad while her maid is feeding her.

Oh not only that, her younger brother was playing with an iPad.

Such wealthy kids.

I guess that sums up my trip to Bandung, Indonesia.

It's a pretty nice place to go and visit.

The one thing I really didn't like about the trip was the fact that everywhere you went, there would be someone smoking.

I think my life count has dropped like 5 years. *touchwood*

However, I would recommend it to any shopper who's hunting for a good bargain.

Just make sure you're ready to walk.

Warehouses I would recommend you to go:

-Rumah Mode.

-Gossip.

-Bali Heaven.

Just to name some good ones...

Here are just some to-do's/not-to-do's:

-Make sure you have enough cash (loose change).

-Bring a jacket, because it can get quite cold. Especially at night.

-Go and buy brownies from Kartika Sari.

-Don't succumb to beggars along the street or at while waiting in the care. (This sounds really mean, and I apologise for this, but if you wind down your window to give help, a lot more others will come and swarm you.)

-Don't fall for the tourist location places. (Like the really annoying hike in the forest.)

Overall, a good place to go visit and shop. You'd have to be patient to shop though.

2nd Blogversary!

Okay...actually it was on the 28th of January. But I was a little busy. (That's surprising).
Year 2 of blogging! Pretty alright year. Not as much posts as year 1 though.

So let's see...
Only 28 blog posts. (I like this number).
It's much less than what I wrote the previous year.
I guess it's quite sad that no one ever blogs these days.
Honestly, I think facebook and twitter are to blame.
But hey, technology moves and people get lazy.

Also, my furball of a dog shares the same birthday as my blog. Hooray. Makes it easier for me to remember.

Anyways, I've wanted to try making 'Lemon Curd Crepe Cake' ever since I found the recipe.

Life updates:

Today I had brunch with a close friend of mine from Australia. Went to Paddington's House of Pancake, had some pancakes and drinks and caught up with the current times. It was really good to catch with her. Wish there was more time though. :\

Oh and my new neighbours invited my family over for dinner. It was pretty nice of them.

Anyhoo, next week I'll be going to Indonesia for a trip . So you'll hopefully expect some pictures. Keep your fingers crossed.

Just A Quick Update...

It feels like yesterday 2010 just started. But alas, it's already 2011!

(Found it off the internet. I don't know where it's really from. Boo.)

'Resolutions' shall be kept private, because I don't want to be pressured to keep them.

I got myself a new camera. Say hello to the Canon G12.

A combination of a christmas gift and a birthday present. (Big Thank You to my mum!)

It's been a pretty down week for most of us.

Last day of 2010!
I didn't have a New Year's party this year. (Aww...)
So...don't worry.
I didn't leave you out of my 'party' list.
But thank you for asking. =)

This year has been a pretty interesting year with everything that has happened.
I wrote a blog about how my college life as a SAM student in Taylors College was. Go check it out here.
I've unfortunately lost some friends, but I also gained some new ones.
Had some bad news, but I also had some good news.
You get the idea. I've had my ups and downs this year.

As 2010 is coming to an end, let's take this time to reminisce the good times we had, and learn from the mistakes we've made.
Here's to looking forward to 2011.
